About this event
The Jinya-mae Morning Market is held every day in the plaza in front of Takayama Jinya, the former Edo-period government office. The Hida-Takayama tourism association's official guide gives the hours as 6:00 to 12:00 from April to December and 7:00 to 12:00 from January to March. Local farm households sell fresh vegetables and fruit alongside homemade miso, mochi and pickles, including Takayama's famous red turnip pickles.
