Seven ornate, beautifully carved wooden floats are paraded through Takaoka every year on 1 May to honour Maeda Toshiie.

About this event
The festival dates back to the founding of Takaoka in 1609, when Maeda Toshiie presented his imperial carriage to the city's founder, later converted into a float. The floats are designated national tangible and intangible cultural assets. The 2027 date follows the fixed 1 May pattern and is marked expected until the city confirms it.
