About this event

The Nagaoka Fireworks Foundation holds the display on the fixed dates of 2 and 3 August every year, from 19:20 to 21:10, as the centrepiece of the Nagaoka Festival; the official site is organised around those fixed dates, but 2027 ticketing and programme details had not been published when checked, so the record follows the festival's fixed annual dates. About 20,000 fireworks are launched over the two nights, including the giant Shosanshakudama shells and the Phoenix, a shell sequence about two kilometres wide that symbolises the city's recovery from wartime bombing and the 2004 earthquake.
