About this event
Juhyo form on Aomori fir trees on the Zao range when supercooled droplets and snow freeze onto the branches, growing through January and reaching their peak in February, according to Zao Ropeway, before weakening and collapsing in March. The 31 light-up nights for the 2026-27 season run from 26 December 2026 to 23 February 2027, lit from 17:00 to 21:00 and viewed from the ropeway to Jizo Sancho Station at 1,661 metres; the night list was published in a Kaminoyama City Tourism and Products Association release, as Zao Ropeway's own juhyo page had not yet been updated with the new season's dates when checked.
