About this event
Wajima's morning market has a history of more than 1,000 years and fills about 360 metres of Asaichi-dori in Kawai-machi with around 200 stalls. A Japanese government guide to the market gives the hours as 8:00 to 12:00 daily, with occasional Wednesday closures; the market also closes on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month and from 1 to 3 January. Vendors sell fresh seafood, dried fish, Wajima lacquerware and vegetables.
