About this event
The Japan Tourism Agency records Takachiho's yokagura as performed from sundown to sunrise between mid-November and early February, as some twenty villages take turns staging all 33 dances of the Amaterasu cave myth through the night in thanks for the harvest. The 2026-27 season frame follows that published season; individual village dates are announced locally each autumn.
