Where to stay for Sumida River Fireworks.
The fireworks are launched from two sites along the Sumida River, in the Asakusa and Ryogoku area of eastern Tokyo. When the display ends the whole crowd heads for the same few stations at once, so a base in the east of the city, Asakusa above all, is worth more on this night than a grander address across town.

Which district
Shinjuku for transport and range, Asakusa for the old city and festival mornings, the Tokyo Station and Ginza side for polish. Stay on the Yamanote loop and everything is one train away.
