Ice buildings and sculptures are created along the Ishikari River at Sounkyo Onsen and illuminated at night. The previous edition, the 51st, ran from 24 January to 8 March 2026 on the organiser's page, and as of verification the organiser had not yet published dates for the 2027 edition, so the dates shown are the expected window based on the previous edition's Saturday-to-Sunday pattern.
