Where to stay for Shirakawa-go Winter Light-Up.

The light-up runs on four January nights only, 11, 17, 24 and 31 January 2027, from 17:30 to 19:30 in Ogimachi village, and entry is by advance reservation only, with no same-day tickets. A night inside the village itself is allocated by lottery, and the lottery for the 2027 nights closed on 31 October 2026. Near the station for convenience, the Higashi Chaya and Kenrokuen side for atmosphere. The city is compact and walkable once you arrive.
