Ojima Neputa Festival

More than ten illuminated fan neputa floats, some over 7 metres tall, parade Ota on 14 and 15 August every year.

About this event
The Gunma Official Tourist Guide lists the Ojima Neputa Festival on 14 and 15 August, drawing around 160,000 visitors a year. The festival began in 1986 under a sister city relationship with Hirosaki in Aomori, home of the original neputa tradition, and the Ota Tourism Association confirms it is held on 14 and 15 August every year.
