About this event
Nikko's season is a ladder by height: the Nikko City Tourism Association puts Ryuzu Falls and Lake Yunoko at their best in early to mid-October, Lake Chuzenji, Kegon Falls and the Irohazaka switchbacks from mid-October to early November, and the World Heritage shrines in early to mid-November. This record frames the association's published 2026 season; exact peaks are forecast-led and the Irohazaka road is severely congested at weekends.
