About this event
The Kichirei Kaomise Kogyo, the face showing production, is the highlight of Kyoto's theatrical year, when kabuki actors from east and west Japan appear together at the Minamiza, the historic theatre in Gion. The December 2026 season runs daily from 1 to 24 December, with a matinee at 10:30 and an evening programme at 16:00, and no performances on 9 and 17 December. Tickets go on sale on 9 November 2026, priced from 6,000 yen for fourth class seats to 28,000 yen for special seats.
