About this event
The festival takes over the frozen Lake Akan in Akan-Mashu National Park, with snowmobiles, banana boats and smelt fishing on the ice and fireworks launched above it each night. Hokkaido's official tourism site lists the previous edition from 1 February to 1 March 2026, with the fireworks continuing to 15 March after the ice closes to visitors; 2027 dates had not been published at verification, so the window shown mirrors the previous edition.
