About this event
Autumn in Japan begins on the Daisetsuzan range: colour appears around the 1,984-metre summit of Mount Kurodake in early September and works down through the ropeway stations to Sounkyo Gorge by around mid-October. The ropeway operator, Rinyu Kanko, frames the mountain's colour season across September and October; the Japan Meteorological Association gives Kurodake's usual peak as early to late September. The 2027 window covers the summit and upper-slope season.
