About this event
The Kumano City Tourism Association's event calendar gives the festival as every year on 17 August, 19:00 to about 21:30, a date kept since 1963. Two high-speed boats drop ignited shells into the sea and a three-shaku shell is detonated on a raft; the display is postponed in bad weather, so check the association page before travelling.
