About this event
The Festivals of Japan listing gives the rule as the three days from Friday to Sunday in the first week of August every year, which in 2027 falls on 6 to 8 August; the 2026 edition ran 7 to 9 August. Dance circles spread around yagura towers across the city, and the programme includes the national Yagibushi song contest and the Kiryu Gion mikoshi procession.
