About this event
Official dates for the 2027 edition are not yet published. Fukuoka Prefecture's official travel guide states the festival began in 1988 as a joint event with the Shimonoseki fireworks, is launched from both banks of the Kanmon Straits, and lists the 2026 edition as scheduled on Thursday 13 August 2026 with 15,000 fireworks, so 13 August 2027 is the expected date, the festival's standing date.
