About this event
The Hyakumanben Tezukuri-ichi, or Handicraft Market, is held on the 15th of every month except August, from 8:00 to 16:00, in the grounds of Hyakumanben Chion-ji Temple near Kyoto University. Around 380 to 450 stalls take part, and everything is sold by the person who made it: ceramics, cloth goods, woodwork, food and plants. Kyoto City's official tourism site lists the market, which goes ahead in rain.
