About this event
Visit Wakayama, the prefecture's official tourism site, describes Hina Nagashi as a Shinto ritual held every year on 3 March at Awashima Shrine in Kada. Dolls dedicated from all over Japan are put on small plain wooden boats with papers bearing wishes, blessed by a Shinto priest and drifted out to sea.
