Official dates for the 2027 edition are not yet published. JNTO states the festival is held every year on the first Sunday or national holiday after September 16, which in 2027 is Sunday, September 19, and it listed September 20, 2026 as the tentative 2026 date; the shrine's official site states the September 20, 2026 Shinko procession was cancelled following the July 28, 2026 Kumamoto earthquake, with shrine rituals held from September 13, 2026.
