About this event
The Arashiyama Hoshokai, the organiser, holds the festival every year on the second Sunday of November, which falls on 8 November in 2026. Decorated boats leave the Togetsukyo Bridge area on the Oi River carrying musicians and dancers in Heian-period dress, in a tradition thanking the guardian deity of the Arashiyama hills.
