Comic Market 109: the Winter Comiket guide to Tokyo Big Sight
The winter Comiket runs from Tuesday 29 to Thursday 31 December 2026 at Tokyo Big Sight in Ariake, in a smaller layout than recent editions because East Halls 4 to 6 are closed for renovation. The halls in use, the hours for each part of the fair, and how the wristband entry works.
What you need to know, in short: Comic Market 109, the winter Comiket, runs for three days at Tokyo Big Sight in Ariake, from Tuesday 29 to Thursday 31 December 2026. Comiket is the world's largest doujinshi fair, held twice a year, in summer and in winter, and the winter edition is the one that closes the year. This edition is smaller than recent ones: East Halls 4 to 6 are unavailable because of large-scale renovation, so the fair is fitted into the remaining halls. Our Comic Market listing carries the calendar entry; this guide covers the layout, the hours and the entry rules for C109.
The halls this winter
| Part of the fair | Where |
|---|---|
| Doujin circles | East Halls 1 to 3, West Halls 1 to 2 and South Halls 1 to 2 |
| Corporate booths | West Halls 3 to 4 and South Halls 3 to 4 |
| Cosplay area | East Hall 8, the rooftop exhibition area and the garden |
Read the layout before you plan a route through the day. The circle spaces, where fan creators sell their own doujinshi, are spread across the east, west and south halls, and the corporate booths sit in their own blocks in the west and south halls, so the two halves of the fair are interleaved rather than separated. The cosplay area is apart again, in East Hall 8 and outdoors on the rooftop exhibition area and in the garden. With East Halls 4 to 6 out of use for renovation, expect a tighter fair than regulars will remember from recent editions: fewer halls holding a fair that still draws its crowds to Ariake for the last three days of the year.
Hours
| Part of the fair | Hours | Final day, 31 December |
|---|---|---|
| Doujin circles | 10:30 to 16:00 | 10:30 to 16:00 |
| Corporate booths | 10:30 to 17:00 | Closes at 16:00 |
| Changing rooms | 10:30 to 17:30 | Closes at 17:00 |
| Cosplay area | Closes at 16:30 | Closes at 16:00 |
The circle halls are the core of the day, and they close first, at 16:00. The corporate booths run an hour longer on the first two days, to 17:00, before falling back to a 16:00 close on Thursday 31 December. The changing rooms stay open latest of all, to 17:30, and to 17:00 on the final day, and the cosplay area closes at 16:30, or at 16:00 on the final day. If a circle is the reason you came, work to the 16:00 close; on the first two days, the hour after it belongs to the corporate booths, not the other way round.
Getting in: the wristband
Entry to C109 uses the wristband ticket system carried over from recent editions, the same system used from C102 to C108. Buy the wristband in advance, and follow the official site for the entry route on the day. Do not plan on sorting entry out when you arrive: the wristband is the ticket, and the official guidance is the final word on how and where holders come in.
Getting there, and the rules that matter
Two rules shape the morning. Overnight queueing is prohibited, and so is early-morning arrival: the fair asks visitors not to gather before the doors, and a plan built on being first in line at dawn is a plan the organisers have ruled out. Come by public transport. There is no general visitor parking at the venue, and taxis are discouraged because of the congestion around Ariake on Comiket days, so the train in and the train out are part of the day, not an afterthought. Arrive inside the rhythm of the published hours, with the wristband already sorted, and the day is simple: circles first while they are open, corporate booths inside their hours, and the year ending around you in Tokyo.
Comiket closes the fan calendar for 2026, and our December guide sets it in the full month, alongside the illuminations and the other year-end events.
