About this event
Karatsu Kunchi is Karatsu Shrine's autumn festival, held November 2 to 4, 2026, with Yoiyama on November 2, Otabisho Shinko to Nishinohama Beach on November 3 and the town parade on November 4. Its 14 hikiyama floats, built between 1819 and 1876, depict lions, dragons and samurai helmets, and the festival is designated an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan.
