Fireworks are launched from two sites along the Sumida River, in the Asakusa and Ryogoku area of eastern Tokyo, in one of the city's main summer fireworks displays. The previous edition, the 49th, was held on Saturday 25 July 2026, as confirmed on the official festival site, and the 2027 date is not yet published, so the date shown is the last Saturday of July 2027, the festival's traditional day.
