The Himeji Otemae-dori and Himeji Castle Illumination 'Atarayo' runs from 20 November 2026 to 11 January 2027, lit from 17:00 to 22:00. About 510,000 full-colour LEDs, roughly double the previous year, cover the 2.5 kilometre avenue from Himeji Station to the castle. Lighting designer Motoko Ishii directs the display, per the event's official site and Himeji City.
